To promote the home release of Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out of the Shadows, PXL Bros used a combination of digital and traditional painting to create a series of portraits inspired by the works of the Turtles’ respective namesakes. These portraits were then shared across a variety of social channels, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Physical versions were commissioned by fine artists, then displayed in an exclusive gallery show at DTLA’s Art Walk, creating a tongue-in-cheek gallery experience and bringing the digital into the real world.
