If you’re a fan of kitten videos, listicles, and people injuring themselves for internet fame then Deadpool has a surprise for you. To help promote the blockbuster movie, PXL Bros created clickpooler.com, a site that let you take advantage of your more gullible friends. Clickpooler.com generated fake “clickbait” content, then gave fans the ability to post the articles to their social feeds with one simple click. When an unsuspecting friend (or enemy? frenemy?) clicked on the link, everybody’s favorite Merc with the Mouth let them know who the joke was on (them), then drove the scammed party to the site to keep the cycle of passive- aggression going into infinity.
